With a ton of different theaters and performance venues, this is the ultimate date experience. Looking at their schedule online, you'll be sure to find something you'll enjoy, but the special performances (think Broadway) are usually hard tickets. They have a nice roof terrace for cocktails as well. If you just want the standard experience, come see the National Symphony and then call your Mom, she'll love that.

This place gets the Broadway shows for the most part. Look! Cats is in town!
(202) 783-1032
Another venue for Broadway shows like Chicago, or big act comedians, or the Washington Ballet. However, other acts include Steve Winwood and Widespread Panic. So they're eclectic. Nice.

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing, end them. See, we're educated! If you like that, you'll love this theater located downtown, in the theater district. Afterwards, you can help me straighten out my Longfellow.

Toots and the Maytals, the Subdudes, The Radiators, the Dark Star Orchestra - these are some of the bands you will see here plus plenty of tribute bands like Bruce in the USA. It's a small movie theater turned concert venue that in the middle of tobacco country doesn't allow smoking. Anyways, check their schedule to see if anything worth the drive to suburbia is playing at this most creatively named venue.
(202) 628-1776
A classic venue that is a giant open hall with 3 sides of balcony, so it is more likely to get concerts and events than plays and musicals, which is why we like it. Franz Ferdinand and Widespread Panic have played it. So has Rodney Dangerfield, Aerosmith and the Dalai Lama. On the negative side, they don't let you take drinks to your seats and the bathrooms are two flights of stairs underground next to the mile long beer line. But other than that....just hope your favorite band schedules itself somewhere else.
