What a gem in Portland! Wildwood specializes in Northwest Cuisine, which is hearty and full of rich flavors. The compact menu is full of variety: halibut, salmon, ribeye and fowl. Everything on the menu is local grown so it's incredibly fresh and the chefs are experts in proper preparation of the local supply. The waitstaff are incredibly knowledgeable and excited to share their favs with you and help you to find the perfect beverage to match your meal. I had the bacon-wrapped fowl over pasta and chard and it was one of the best meals I've had out in Portland. Located in the Heathman Hotel, the Heathman Restaurant is the perfect place for an upscale meal. The classy menu offers such treats as sausage-stuffed rabbit and halibut in cream sauce among others and features live jazz Wednesday through Saturday. If you're a desert fan, they have three different kinds of crème brulee.

Iorio is reknown as Portland's newest romantic dinner location. Italian cuisine and perfectly cooked dishes certainly back it up. The serve a pretty mean dirty martini and when my wife and I visited the fish they served us was perfectly cooked, not dry but nice and juicy and I thought that wasn't possible. Southpark is the go-to for business people on their lunch hour and their seafood entrees are great. Good wine selection and a cool open kitchen allows you to see everything going on back there. Don't faint by the plethora of fresh oysters on ice in direct view when you walk in.

The Charthouse is built into the side of "pill hill" (OHSU Campus) and overlooks Portland. This very romantic restaurant will deliver the goods. The bottom floor is a great place to enjoy a cocktail in front of the fireplace in the large plush leather furniture. The special here is the steak and it comes a la carte but it's very good. Lunch Monday - Friday 11:30am - 2:00pm (light fare 2:00pm - 5:00pm in lounge) Dinner Monday - Thursday 5:00pm - 9:30pm Friday - Saturday 5:00pm - 10:00pm Sunday 5:00pm - 9:00pm

Genoa is the perfect place for a romantic dinner or special occasion. They are known for their 7 course dinners and seating is by reservation only. The menus are prix-fixed and change every two to three weeks. Be sure to check out their menu in advance so you have an idea of what you are getting into and you will absolutely want to save room for desert. The restaurant is small, cozy and intimate. The food is delicious and delicately prepared with the freshest, seasonal ingredients.
