If you're looking for just a good, homestyle breakfast, without the fancy ambiance or presentation, Tom's is the place. This is the place where you roll in with a paper under one arm and you belly-up to the bar to order your 2 eggs over easy, hashbrowns and a biscuit. No frills here, just the real deal. You feel like you've known your waitress your entire life. It's comfortable here. Open Daily 6am-8pm

This is still your greasy, I'm hungover, breakfast fare but because it's in NW Portland it's going to cost you a little more. The restaurant resides inside an old 1920s NW Portland home with three floors to serve you on. The pancakes are enormous…you choose your pancakes in either sizes 1/2 acre or full acre...Order the 1/2 acre. Hours: Tues-Thu 7am-9pm, Fri-Sat 7am-10pm, Sun, Mon 7am-3pm 6:30am-3pm Daily

Besaw's is the oldest bar in Portland. Solid gut-filling food and you couple that with a good bloody-mary and you're set for the evening. During the summer try and get a table outside and enjoy. If you're also interested, Besaw's is well known for it's brunch. Mon: 7am-3pm Tue-Fri: 7am-10pm Sat: 8am-10pm Sun: 8am-3pm

A 1950s era diner setting provides for an enjoyable Eastside-style breakfast. The eastside is home to the more creative side of Portland, which positively affects the breakfast you ingest here. A Cadillac is enshrined inside the establishment and you need to try a smoothie. The Hazlenut French Toast is out of this world! Crowds are not bad during the week, but during the weekend this place is slammed! Rightfully so too. Hours: Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm, Sat-Sun 7am-3pm .

If your cup of coffee is a joe and a light breakfast, you will find nothing better than Java Vivace. They serve any kind of coffee in a large mug delicately created by your non-Starbucks barista and an increadible array of crépe selection. This is a legitamate French crepe, either with fruit or meat. Built inside a NW Portland home, the seating area is all era-specific tables in several of the homes rooms. Open Weekdays 8am-12am; Weekends 8:30am-12am

Located in picture-perfect Multomah Village is Fat City. Get there a bit before 9am and get seating at a diner-style booth or if you're by yourself, at the bar. Good morning-after selctions at Fat City and yes, the food is like the name. They don’t serve breakfast for those trying to lose weight but if you're with someone you care about there's nothing like rolling into Fat City on Saturday morning in your sweats and flip flops. Hours: Mon-Sat 6:30am- 2:30pm Sun 7:30am- 2:00pm.
