Oregon Zoo

Always a fun experience, the Oregon Zoo has a wide array of animals on display. Bears, tigers, lions, panthers, elephants, inlcuding a great polar bear exhibit. Plan to spend half a day here if you want to see everything. Multnomah Falls

About 30 minutes outside of Portland, Multnomah Falls is a great weekend destination to get outside. Water falls 620 feet to a pool at the bottom. Take the 1/4 mile Larch Mountain Trail to the bridge for a great view of the falls and another mile you'll get to the top.

Located under the Burnside Bridge on the West Side of Portland in OldTown, The Saturday Market begins in March and goes through December, open on Saturdays and Sundays. The Market features local artists and craftsmen and their wares as well as great food of all ethnicities. Music is rampant throughout the marketplace and it's a great place to lose yourself for 4-5 hours on a weekend. Bring cash because no one really takes checks or credit.
