Woodburning ovens add a flare to this well-thought out Italian menu that skips the red & white tablecloths for sensational pizza and yummy grilled calamari appetizers. Pasta and seafood entrees are strewn throughout the menu. Be sure to get there early enough or maybe call ahead as the nice weather brings flocks of crowd to the outdoor seating. Daily 12pm-12am

Rustic fare at this new neighborhood spot has melted the hearts of most NYers that eat here. The all-reservations policy screws you if you want to walk in and eat dinner at any time other than 4pm or 11pm, so call them as soon as you think you'd want to go. Mon-Sat 11:30am-2:30pm, 5:30pm-11pm

The red and white table cloths do not deceive and this is your home-cooked Italian pizza & pasta joint. It's packed at night, but great for carb-loading, inexpensive, and not plagued by the touristas that flock to Little Italy for worse-quality fare.

In a location on 64th and 3rd that has seen many reincarnations, a good steady Italian has come to the UES. A nice bar area with real tables to meet up with friends for a glass of wine and snacks are a good selling point. There is a downstairs dining room that works well for Business dinners, meeting the parents, etc. To note are private rooms which you can put from apx 10-60 people in is good for arranging group parties!
