Perched on the corner of Henry Street and busy Atlantic Avenue, Tazzo is a calm oasis. With an expansive sandwich and salad offering, the highlight of this café is its lunch offerings. Don't overlook the delicious dessert options though, and their breakfast offering are worth a try as well. A favorite of ours is the hearty oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, and the Kirby and feta cheese sandwich for lunch. Tazzo also offers a quaint wine bar with reasonably priced selections.

Naidre's sits on a sleepy corner on Henry St, in Cobble Hill. The café offers a large menu of unique sandwiches, especially for those vegetarians and health conscious out there, as well as tasty muffins, coffee and teas. Naidre's is one of the few places in this neighborhood with ample seating, which is a nice perk if you want a place to meet up with friends.

Situated right on busy Montague St, Lassen and Henning's is a sort of gourmet deli. The have the best sandwiches in town, and definitely make our favorite egg and cheese on a roll- NY style. With a stocked make-it-yourself coffee bar and an oatmeal and toppings station, this deli fits the bill in the AM. Don't think twice about bringing home one of their desserts either, the black and white cookies are a favorite of ours. Open Daily 7am-10:30pm

Cheaper than Jamba Juice and more nutritious than Starbucks, Nectar has the best smoothies in all of Brooklyn. We love the peanut butter, banana and chocolate smoothie (because it's really an excuse to eat candy in liquid form), but their wraps and sandwiches are great too. Our favorite wrap is the chicken and blue cheese wrap, though we can't recommend having both a smoothie and a wrap as the portions on both are super generous!
