Well folks we are in a difficult spot here... we can tell you about this place but unless you are willing to spend a ton of money on a reservation or happen to be best friends with the celebrity next to you, getting in this place is going to be a challenge. When a place has retractable curtains to shield celebrities while arriving to the club the everyday folk are in trouble. We recommend trying this place during the week and we definitely recommend setting something up before you arrive. This place just opened last December and for a bit of history was West Hollywood's first prohibition-era drinking establishment.

The lounge at Hyde is small, which brings the word intimate to mind. Models, celebrities and people that know how to get on a guest list flock to the first floor lounge for a chance to mingle under the candlelight. Due to Hyde's "intimate" size, getting in on a weekend without a table reservation is like getting into Fort Knox, it's not going to happen. But once your reservation is booked and you're on the inside, you'll find that Hyde has good music, good looking people and an ambiance that, though a bit pretentious, is really quite cool. Hours: Sat-Sun 9pm-2am

The male gender have a difficult time gaining access to Les Deux, so ladies, next time you arrive and spot a guy that's been turned away, do a good deed and pretend like he's with you. This way he can enjoy all that this hip lounge has to offer, including their sexy European décor, ambient music and glamorous vibe. I bet he'll be so thankful he'll buy you a drink or two, which will save you the $12-$24. After taking in the posh interior at Les Deux, head for their patio, where the lighting is sensual and the mood is more relaxed. Hours: Tue-Sat 10pm-2am

As with most Hollywood lounges that cater to the rich and famous, Winston's can be a real hassle to get into. However, as with most Hollywood lounges that cater to the rich and famous, once you're inside, the fun starts. The DJs mix up the music while the dance floor provides an outlet for letting pretty girls and handsome boys shake what their mothers gave them. Lots of industry players and scenesters hang out at this NYC-inspired locale so, again, know that gaining entry can be exhausting. Your best bet of joining those on the inside is to know someone already there or be on a one of Winston's magical lists. Hours: Sat-Sun 7pm-2am

As the name suggests, Skybar is a bar in the sky. It's more of a lounge actually, but loosely maintains a bar feel via the plastic cups they serve their drinks in -- which are more reminiscent of a college party than an upscale celebrity destination. However, Skybar is no college party. It's an ultra-hip, ultra-hard-to-get-into open-air pavilion atop the Mondrian Hotel. The views are great, the clientele sexy and the drinks stellar (even if served in plastic cups). There's a romantic vibe that is unbeatable and, on nice nights, there's no better place in the city to lounge around. Hours: Sat-Sun 11am-2am

Though Jimmy's is hard to find (it's set on a dark corner), it's surprisingly easy to get into, at least compared to so many of its counterparts. Designed with the feel of a speakeasy, Jimmy's ditches most of the all-to-common pretension for more of a welcoming feel. Known to give away a free drink or two, this lounge gets energized on the weekends when hip-hop music blares and the dance floor gets packed. Jimmy's is recommended for those who like socializing. What's not recommended, however, is street parking. Use the services of the valet. Hours: Thu-Sat 9pm-2am

When it comes to doormen at lounges, there's the never ending US versus THEM battle. While girls find it far easier to gain admittance, guys must outmaneuver these burly men who guard the entrance. Sometimes you need to slip them cash, while other times you must arm yourself with at least two members of the opposite sex. At Teddy's the war rages on. Yet once you defeat these doormen and find yourself inside, you instantly realize why something so special deserves such tight security. At Teddy's the drinks are strong and the music stronger. Pretty people make the dark yet trendy lounge that much more glamorous and a rotating flow of recognizable faces makes for excellent people watching (if you're not too busy dancing).
