This is one of Boise's most popular evening hangouts almost every night of the week. Its packed the gills on weekends and you'll usually find a line waiting outside to get in. If you're one of those people who absolutely refuse to stand in line discretly hand a $20 to the bouncer and you'll immediatly pass GO. Not recommended but definatly doable. It also has a dance club connected to it called Gusto's. Combined, the 2 make one hell of a night!

What did they steal the name from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? What a lame move. This place is a joke and the bartenders should know that being a coked out asshole in a cow town in the middle of nowhere is really ...not... that... cool.

Horrible experiences.

I've been a resident of Boise for a little over two years and in the time I've been here I've visited mac and charlies only three times. And each time I had to be dragged by blind-sighted friends. I've never been in such a lousy club in my life. Not only is the atmosphere boring, but the place is dirty. But my main complaint is the rude attitude I and some of my friends received from the bartenders. My personal experience happened when I waited at the bar to be served. I knew the bartender had seen me, but hadn't acknowledged my presence. When I finally caught her eye I raised my debit card and smiled, signaling that I was ready to tell her what I wanted to drink. She pointed at me; then left to talk with the other bartenders. Other times at mac and charlies my friends also went through the same horrible service. A friend ordered two drinks from the bartender and asked for a certain shot. The bartender told him he didn't know how to make it, so my friend politely offered to tell him the ingredients. The bartender, for no real reason, instantly threw out my friend's already made drinks and left. Another time two of my girl friends walked up to the bar to order and was told maliciously by the bartender that he wouldn't serve them because they were, "fat-asses", which makes less sense because both of my friends are slim and attractive. I don't know why mac and charlies seems to be so crowded on the weekends, unless people just like to be treated like crap.

Best Bar in Boise by far

I've been hanging out here since it was the "Hanger" and I still love it. The dance club connected to it adds a little more to the atmosphere. I'm 30 and enjoy everything about Mac and Charlies.
