Smack-dab in Decatur's town square, it's the perfect place to catch a solid day-buzz or settle in for a night of quiet conversation or spirited debate with close friends. The atmosphere's warm and inviting with servers who understand beer-snobbery is a good thing. Be careful what you order. Many of the grogs' alcohol content hit double digits. The Vortex kicks ass for a litany of reasons. We've already established they have the best burger this side of the Chattahoochee, but let us not forget their awe-inspiring beer menu. You name it they've got it -- if not on tap than certainly in the bottle. The atmosphere may at first seem exclusive to biker dudes and their road-weary chicks, but after a second look you'll see that anyone's welcome as long as they don't act like a chode. This place has over 100 beers on tap and over 280 by the bottle. They have some frequent beer program, similar to an airline and hotel rewards program for alcoholics where you can earn rewards as you taste each beer on their list. Needless to say they will start calling you Norm if you finish the whole selection and provide you a super-sized mug for all of your future beers. This relatively new Midtown location has 21 different beers on draft (at last count but who's counting) and a unique menu featuring quality pub style food. The place also features a great patio and has been getting high marks for their burgers. It's a great spot for happy hour or weekend brunch. An unmistakingly Irish pub in a brand new house where you can catch a premier league soccer game and drink a pint of whatever the hell you want. Fado also features great bloody mary's and is a popular brunch hangout. On a side-note this place has one of the best St. Patrick's Day parties in Atlanta and is located right in the heart of Buckhead (still).
