Sneaky Sunday thinks if you ever get lucky enough to see a group that you like in this venue – sneak online as fast as you can and get your tickets! Another sneaky hint – there’s no assigned seating – if you want to sit at a table (maybe 30-40 seats) arrive early and stand in line at the door! And if you want to sit and drink at the same time, show your ID (it’s all ages here) and go right and upstairs from the mosh pit area! Now you’re all set to enjoy such an intimate venue, eye contact with the band is possible from anywhere in the place! The sound system is above average – definitely cool enough to collectively rock the sneaky soul! Check out their website for all the upcoming shows.

This ranks high on Sneaky Sundays list as it is located in a 1920’s era historic building in Downtown Albuquerque (the only Mediterranean style of architecture in a theater in New Mexico) and is such a cherished music venue that when it suffered severe damage from a fire, the community pitched in and got it rockin again! The El Rey has been providing local and national groups a place to play for over 26 years and plans to keep booking the acts that are so crucial in keeping Albuquerque’s music scene vibrant! All the info about their scheduled artists is on the web.

Performing arts in a beautifully restored historic building downtown Albuquerque – if you can imagine what Pueblo Deco architecture combined with Native American ornamentation looks like – you’ll certainly be entertained by the décor of this place! It’s small, just about a 650 person capacity so whatever you’re there for will feel as though it’s being performed just for you! The shows range from burlesque to stand up comedy to boutique style films, plays, opera and ballet! Something sneaky for every theatrical taste! The website includes all updated info on future shows.
