Constantly changing exhibits and world class contributing scientists combine to fascinate and educate the curious. While natural history with a focus on the local geologic area is extensive, there is a Planetarium and a Lockheed Martin Dynatheater in the museum as well! Another museum worth some sneaky time, also found in Old Town, Albuquerque. This is where to go for your culture fix. From classical masterpieces to national touring exhibits as well as regionally inclusive art exposing the southwest, it’s a first class art experience for sure. Explora Science Center and Children's Museum

This is hands on science and it’s not just for the kids! Explora is also located in Old Town and their motto is “Ideas you can touch!” With a monthly “adults only” feature and a “Science Bar” at which some outstanding local scientists (between Sandia and Los Alamos National Labs and UNM, there are many!) show you what they’re working on and invite you to join in – this is a one-of-a-kind center to experiment with science no matter what your age! Albuquerque Balloon Museum

This deserves a spot on Sneaky Sunday’s list as Albuquerque hosts the largest balloon fiesta in the world, each fall since 1972, and this is the museum that commemorates ballooning locally and internationally throughout its history to present day! The venue has startling architecture and unique and unusual interior displays of all that is ballooning! The annual fiesta is the most photographed event in the world and you’ll understand why this is, as you wander through the facility – vivid eye popping color and form in all directions.
